Invitation to Our Club Project : Generic Health Camp @ Tiga Community Health Centre of Tiga LGA (Kano State)
Be a Gift to the World: Joy of Service
My DG & Fellow Rotarians,
The project took off as expected at 11am. The place was filled up to the brim with patients from Tiga, Bebeji LGA & it’s environs. The Community & Religious Leaders were present. Our sponsor was on ground. Drugs of various types & for various ailments were provided. Treated Mosquito Nets & Refreshments were supplied. Our Club: RC of Nassarawa-Kano provided 2 Medical Doctors & 3 Nurses. The Tiga General Hospital also provided 2 Medical Doctors & 3 Nurses. The Pharmacists & other support staff were provided by the hospital too. Our sponsor’s staff joined the Pharmacists in the distribution of Drugs, Nets & Refreshments. We had a hectic time controlling more than 500 Patients who besieged the place for a touch of our love for mankind.
The programme went well. It was extremely difficult controlling the crowd. NTA, Daily Trust & other media outfits present as well as community leaders & security agents were overwhelmed.
The high point was @ 4.35pm when the Governor of Kano State, His Excellency, Dr Umar Ganduje & his entourage consisting of former Deputy Gov of Borno State, the Kano State SSG, the Kano State Commissioner for Health & more than 3 other Commissioners & several senior government officials besieged the place. The Drugs were inspected. The Doctors were interviewed. He spoke with 3 separate patients who expressed deep satisfaction & prayed for the organisers. The Governor was impressed, he could not hide it when he praised our Sponsors & Rotary to high heavens. He commented on our good gesture. He personally distributed some drugs, Nets & other refreshments. He got other senior government officials to also distribute some Drugs, Nets & Refreshments. He granted interview with us being beside him. The event has been beamed on some media network. It was indeed a day of Glory. A day of showcasing that Rotary is a gift to the World! Rotarians derived joy in service to humanity.
His Excellency left happy & informed us that his door is open to all Rotarians. We thank His Excellency because he has always been a friend of Rotary. His Excellency then proceeded to the project site of our Sponsor for inspection.
As we were arriving from a 1hr 15mins drive from Tiga back to Kano, report of the Zaria project hit us of the sound recommendations of good & quality drugs provided without compromise for the project written by the Management of Gambo Sawaba Hospital in Zaria to Kaduna State Govt.
We will endeavour to get you the pictorial reports of both events so that we can speak through the pictures.
We want to thank All Rotarians who joined us including the Asst Gov. Joshua Akogun who was very patient in waiting through the entire programme. He expressed satisfaction & was happy with the giant stride & impact RC of Nassarawa-Kano is making in the various communities.
We thank our DG who spurs us to work harder, d DGE, DGN, Ayo Oyedokun, & others who have been following through this events & encouraging us. It is on this note, we will keep other facts till our final report will be sent to the District, unless it is very necessary to do otherwise.
Thank you all & God Bless
Yours in Rotary Service,
